Dr. Bethany Reed Hairston

Dr. Bethany Reed Hairston is Board-Certified through the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has been practicing dermatology for 20 years. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from The University of Mississippi, Dr. Hairston attended The University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where she graduated 4th in her class and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha national honor society. She then completed a three-year residency in dermatology at one of the top training programs in the country, The Mayo Clinic, where she was honored to be selected as the recipient of the Paul A. O'Leary Award for Clinical Excellence. She returned to her hometown of Columbus, Mississippi and opened Vitality Dermatology, formerly known as The Dermatology Clinic, in 2009. Dr. Hairston is well-known for her caring bedside manner and thorough approach to all aspects of dermatology including general, surgical, and aesthetic services. In July 2011, she was recognized as one of the Top 50 Businesswomen in Mississippi by the Mississippi Business Journal. She is a published author of several articles in dermatology journals and textbook chapters. Dr. Hairston currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Mayo Clinic O'Leary Dermatology Society.

Dr. Anna E. Woodson

Dr. Anna Woodson is a native of Mississippi. She is a Board-Certified dermatologist. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. She has extensive training in medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Woodson attended the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She completed a pediatric residency at UMMC. She then attended Vanderbilt University, where she completed her dermatology residency. She joined Vitality Dermatology in 2013. She is committed to providing comprehensive skincare, and she is dedicated to being responsive to patients’ needs. When she is not with her patients, she. enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.

Kala Wilson

Nurse Practitioner Kala Wilson, a native of Columbus, joined Vitality Dermatology in February of 2012. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and her Master of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women. Kala is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Mississippi Board of Nursing. Kala is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Society of Dermatology Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Mississippi Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. Kala has a special interest in treating acne and rosacea, with a goal to improve appearance and self esteem. Acne is managed with a comprehensive approach, and an anti-acne regimen is individualized for every patient. Kala also treats patients with psoriasis, eczema, occupational dermatitis, skin cancers, and other conditions.

Shannon Younger

Physician Assistant Shannon Younger, native of South Carolina, joined Vitality Dermatology in January of 2019. She completed her undergraduate education in 2012 at Newberry College in South Carolina earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with Honors. She then graduated from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee with a Master’s of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2016. Shannon is board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Shannon has special interests in both medical and aesthetic dermatology with a special focus on using lasers to improve one’s skin. Shannon in recent past has been a national clinical trainer for Lumenis, a leading laser device company. She states her favorite aspects of working at Vitality Dermatology are her coworkers and the balance of treating both medical and aesthetic patients.

Amber Norman

Amber Norman is a Licensed Cosmetologist, specializing in medical aesthetics, with over 15 years of experience. She first joined Vitality Dermatology in 2010 and has been the manager of our Starkville location since the opening in 2012. Amber has a passion for skincare and helping women feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. She believes healthy skin is just as important as a healthy lifestyle. Amber specializes in the Hydrafacial™, SkinPen™ Microneedling, and using Medical Grade Skin Care to address patient’s concerns on an individualized basis. Amber and her husband have one son.

Nicki Lamb

Nicki is a University of Alabama graduate and has also pursued her dream of earning her aesthetician license. She has over 8 years employment and experience at Vitality Dermatology and works in our Columbus location. Nicki not only has a passion for helping her clients reach their skin care goals, but she also makes her clients feel comfortable with her genuine personality. Nicki states her favorite treatment is the Hydrafacial™ because of its ability to exfoliate, extract, and hydrate the skin.

Allison Thomas

Allison Thomas is a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. She has been in the healthcare field for the last 20 years. Her dental hygiene experience has given her the passion for helping others. With her love of skincare and cosmetics, Allison decided to expand her knowledge in these areas by pursuing aesthetics. Through facials, peels, and custom skin care regimens, she is committed to helping you meet your skincare goals. Allison graduated from Amory Cosmetology Academy in May 2020 and soon after joined the Vitality Dermatology family. Her husband and three daughters have been her biggest supporters during this journey.

Carmen Rowe

Carmen has over 15 years of laser and aesthetic experience. She has been with Vitality Dermatology since 2009. Carmen specializes in IPL, laser hair removal, and laser vein therapy. She can treat many medical conditions with laser devices including warts, port wine stains, and cherry angiomas. Carmen also enjoys cosmetic consultations, helping patients find combinations aesthetic treatments to improve the health and quality of their skin.

Lauren Hollis

Lauren Hollis has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2018. She joined the Vitality team right after graduation and currently works in our Starkville location. Lauren specializes in Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Thai Foot Reflexology, and Cupping. Lauren works with clients on an individualized basis to assemble a treatment plan that facilitates healing physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Payden Seefeld

Payden is a Licensed Massage Therapist who joined Vitality Dermatology in 2019 and works in our Starkville location. Her mission is to promote healing and maintain the health of the mind and body through multiple techniques of massage and energy work. She specializes in chronic pain management and rehabilitation by using her training and experience to come up with long-term care plans for her clients. She performs Swedish, Deep-Tissue, and Prenatal massage techniques to provide each individual with treatment based on their own unique needs and expectations.

Cyndy McGuire

Cyndy McGuire lives in Macon, MS and is a licensed nail technician in our Starkville location. She started a nail care business, You’ve Got Nails, in 2005 and operated it for 7 years before being offered a position at Vitality Dermatology. Her favorite aspect of her job is working with the Vitality team. Married for 40 years, Cyndy and her husband have three children and two grandchildren.
